General Description
You get a private, unlisted telephone number
which connects directly to your voice mailbox.
When dialed, the caller hears your own recorded greeting
and can leave you a message at the tone. You listen to your messages
or edit your outgoing message by dialing your voice mail telephone number
and entering your own passcode.
A great way to sell products, take messages, provide recorded info!
Local vs. 800 mailboxes
Local Phone Number Mailbox: you pay no usage or toll charges.
(see "List of Cities with Local Voice Mail Numbers").
800 Number Mailbox: The caller dials toll-free from anywhere in the
Continental U.S.
You, as the person being called, are assessed a prepaid usage fee of 10 cents/minute
(in 6 second increments) for as long as the 800 number is in use.
